Fiverr

Is Fiverr Legit? Here Is the Truth About Fiverr Freelancers in 2024

When you are running a small business you need every help you can get. But, due to budget limitations, you need the most affordable, yet quality option. Fiverr is one of the most popular freelancing platforms available. When it comes to digital marketing specialists, you can also find them there.

However, I guess these questions immediately come to your mind:

  • Are Fiverr freelancers skilled enough?
  • Will they understand your goals and needs?
  • Would you be able to have a good project oversight?
  • Is it secure payment-wise?

Well, today, I’m going to answer all your concerns so that you can get the right service for your business. Stay assured, that hiring an unskilled freelancer can hurt your brand. That’s why you need to have certain things in mind to increase your leads.

How Fiverr Works?

The Fiverr process is very simple in its theory. Let’s say you need someone to create your social media posts for your brand. As you are looking for freelancers, you come to terms that Fiverr could be the most affordable option. You go on Fiverr and find the freelancer. After reading the reviews you find the ideal one to do your social media content. This is a simple process, however, more things come into play

Fiverr has a lot of freelancers. Not just Freelancers to be honest. A lot of agencies, like Fable & Vox, offer their services on Fiverr to reach a broader audience. So, take your time and do the research.

Furthermore, don’t be fooled by good and bad reviews.

Yes, reviews are a great look at someone’s work. But, I can tell you from experience, read as many reviews as you can. I will give you one example. While working for a luxury watches boutique, I saw something interesting. Someone leaving a one-star review, with the explanation “watches are too expensive.” I repeat, it was a luxury watch store. I am sure that you as a business owner, face the same thing with reviews people leave on your site.

To get back on Fiverr reviews. Someone may leave a positive review. But at the same time, the person could have minimal knowledge of what is good and what is not. Also, a bad review could be from someone who doesn’t know what he wants. Expecting million-dollar content for 5 dollars is not so possible. So, I recommend you to look at the freelancer’s portfolio and see if their style is a good fit for you.

As for payment. Don’t worry, the freelancer doesn’t get the money until he delivers your work. So, no work, no money. And if you don’t like the content delivered, you can ask for a refund. Fiverr is very customer-based platform. So if you reach for support, they will solve your problem.

Can Fiverr Be Trusted?

To put it simply, yes!

But, to get the most out of Fiverr, you need to forget that you are on Fiverr. Yes, it sounds stupid, but let me explain. What is your goal? More leads, brand awareness, just staying active with your content or something else?

What I am trying to say is, to forget the platform and envision what you want to achieve. When you got that covered, you are good to go.

Why is this important?

Well, digital marketing is a vast industry. Various people who specialize in different areas. Furthermore, some Social Media Managers may be experts in growing your profile. Others may know more about how to get leads. So as the old Templar knight in the third Indiana Jones movie said “Choose wisely.” Many brands have found their perfect specialties on Fiverr, which means you can too!

To remove all the worries you have, I decided to pile up some frequent questions about Fiverr.

1. Are Fiverr reviews real?

Yes. But, keep in mind the things I said a few moments ago. Look, freelancers work hard for those reviews (I am speaking from experience). Yet, many people leave fake bad reviews because they do not want to do something for free. What I am trying to say, is just because someone has 4,7, go through the reviews and have an open mind. Second, there is a concern about fake reviews. I mean, yes, you can get them, however, Fiverr will ban the freelancer’s account in that case. Believe me, they recognize it immediately.

2. Is Fiverr Bad?

Well as I said, Fiverr is not necessarily bad in general, but it can be bad for you. It all depends on the goals you have in mind. Also, if your budget is really tight and you hire 5 $ freelancer, don’t expect top quality. I know it’s harsh but it’s true.

3. Are Fiverr Prices Showed Per Hour?

No, but as a business owner, I highly recommend you go for a set price option. That way you can plan your expenses and there are no hidden costs.

5. Fiverr or Upwork?

  • This whole blog wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Upwork. So, let us break it down.

Fiverr

Pros:

  • Lower entry point – Often offers more affordable services, especially for smaller, one-time tasks.
  • Gig-based model – Makes it easy to find specific services and compare prices.
  • Quick turnaround – This can be ideal for urgent projects.

Cons:

  • Limited customization – This may not be suitable for larger, more complex projects.

Upwork

Pros:

  • A wider range of services – Offers a more diverse talent pool, including for larger, ongoing projects.
  • Hourly or fixed-price options – Provides flexibility in payment terms.
  • Strong project management tools – Offers features like time tracking and messaging to streamline collaboration.

Cons:

  • Higher entry point – This can be more expensive for smaller projects.

All that being said, I think Fiverr is the better option for your small business. It’s due to its affordability, delivery time and overall diversity of services offered.
